Microsoft Excel is a commercial spreadsheet application written and distributed by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. It has been widely used worldwide to help people creating and solving their spreadsheet tasks. The current versions of Microsoft Excel are Microsoft Excel 2010 for Microsoft Windows and 2011 for Mac OS X.
Back to year 1982 where Microsoft marketed a spreadsheet program called Multiplan. Multiplan became very popular on CP/M systems, but it lost popularity to Lotus 1-2-3 in DOS system. Microsoft released the first version of Excel for the Mac in 30 September 1985, and the first Windows version in November 1987. With growing popularity of Windows, one year later, Microsoft Excel had started to outsell 1-2-3 and helped Microsoft achieve the position of leading PC software developer. But, Microsoft is never stopped on developing its spreadsheet software. Every one or two years, there is always new version of Microsoft Excel launched with new features which make its competitors have no chance to dethrone its reign.
Since 1993 Excel has included Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), a programming language based on Visual Basic which adds the ability to automate tasks in Excel and to provide user-defined functions (UDF) for use in worksheets. VBA is a powerful addition to the application which, in later versions, includes a fully featured integrated development environment (IDE).
There are other needs when people are using this Excel application. Spreadsheet references which usually called spreadsheet templates. And Microsoft Office provides a place for browsing suitable templates in their official website or by browsing inside the spreadsheet itself when people create a new workbook. Eventhough there are hundreds of them to be browsed, it is not easy for some people to find and modify those templates to suit their needs. And there are many sites in internet that people can visit, browse and download suitable templates. And this site is one of them. This site is created to provide its visitor hundreds of alternative templates that could be suitable for daily home activities, personal activities, school activities or company activities.
